In celebration of Arbor week Hirsch’s Hillcrest recently visited Forest View Primary School to donate and plant an indigenous Toad Tree with the grade two learners. Learners were informed that Arbor Week is a special week that is set aside throughout the world to raise awareness of trees and the important role that they play in our environment.
Commented Public Relations Officer Jonathan Brauteseth “When people wonder ‘why is Arbor Day important’ they only have to look at the destruction and long term damage that deforestation has on the environment to realize that the issues are as important today as they have ever been and that’s why we feel it is so important to get young people involved in this important initiative”
