Allan Hirsch, CEO and Founder of the Hirsch Group, will be one of the judges at the inaugural Hirsch’s Head Chef competition. The competition takes place on October 27 – starting at 1.00 p.m. – in the Siemens kitchen at the Hirsch’s Umhlanga Branch, and will see students from four of the top culinary schools throughout KZN competing for the title of HIRSCH’S HEAD CHEF. Schools taking part include the International Hotel School, the 1000 Hills Chef School, Capsicum Culinary Studio and Fusion Cooking School. The Hirsch’s Group are the main sponsors of the competition.
Commented Allan about the competition: “We are living in a time when people who leave school are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a career. One thing is for sure, and that is that people have got to eat! Training young chefs and getting people enthusiastic about food, taste and smell at an early age is something you can’t really put a value to. Hirsch’s are proud to be instrumental in putting together the Hirsch’s Head Chef Competition.
