Margaret Hirsch, COO of Hirsch’s Homestore’s, recently revisited Mandlakayise Primary school in an informal settlement in Inanda to welcome the children back to their newly revamped school. Margaret, who was approached by the school earlier in 2019 to help with road paving and outdoor play equipment, agreed to tar the areas in-between the classrooms and installed a jungle gym for the children to play on during their break times. Once the paving was done and looking great, Margaret decided that the school needed a paint job to match and got the painting done through the school holidays so that the children could return to a new school in 2020.
“I was blown away by the attitude of the teachers at the school, who do such a fantastic job with very limited resources. Their passion really shines through and it was through their sheer dedication and determination that led me to help them improve their school. The school is looking very smart with their new tarred area and fresh lick of paint in my favourite blue, and I just know that they are going to want to come to school even more in 2020 because the more you learn, the more you will earn!” Said Margaret
