A Healthy Start Smoothie

Feel refreshed on New Years day with a Healthy Start Smoothie from the At Home With Hirsch’s cookbook. This smoothie is full of refreshing flavours of Orange, Kiwi and Strawberry and packed with lots of Vitamin C. This Smoothie will give you the health boost you need to start the New Year off with a bang.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Whole Oranges
  • 250g of Fresh Hulled Strawberries
  • 2 Peeled Kiwi Fruit
  • 15ml Honey (You can leave this out if you would like it less sweet)
  • Ice

Garnish:

  • Fresh Thyme
  • Orange slices
  • Crushed Freeze dried Strawberries

Method:

  1. Place the Whole Oranges into a Microwave and heat them on 100% of power for 1 minute. This will loosen up the juice inside and make them easy to squeeze.
  2. Cut the Oranges in half and squeeze them by hand or with a Citrus press to get all of the juice out.
  3. Place the orange juice and the remainder of the ingredients into a blender and blend them together.
  4. Once Combined add the ice and blend further.
  5. Serve in your favourite breakfast glasses, garnish and enjoy!
