- Hirsch branches around the country have a very handy little section – usually close to the cash desk – that stocks a variety of wonderful items which contribute in helping your appliances to live long and happy lives. In fact, it’s a good idea, when you purchase your appliance, to take home the relevant item at the same time.
- Designed to degrade baked-on food and grease is the oven and grill cleaner. It thickens so that the dirt can be more easily wiped off. There’s also the gas oven degreaser – made specifically for gas ovens and hobs.
- If you have purchased a fridge with a water dispenser, don’t forget to purchase your fridge filter. They remove impurities and contaminants such as lead and chlorine. Typically, water filters have to be replaced every six months to be on the safe side.
- Then there’s the descaler! It’s so important to de-scale your washing machine and dishwasher every three months or so (depending on usage). It keeps them both clean and functional for longer. By regularly de-scaling your machines you will prevent build up of limescale residue (particularly prevalent in hard water areas) from the drum and the internal heating element and of course, prolong the life of your appliance in the process!
