February has always been one of my favourite times of the year, not just because of Valentine’s Day, but because the whole month carries a beautiful spirit of love, appreciation, and connection. After more than fifty years with Allan, I’ve come to realise that love isn’t a once-off celebration. It’s something you nurture throughout all the seasons of life, every month, every year, every day.
When Allan and I started Hirsch’s all those decades ago, we did it hand in hand, as partners in every possible way. Business, marriage, family, it has all been built on teamwork, trust, and plenty of laughter. That’s why the Month of Love isn’t about extravagant gestures for us; it’s about meaningful ones. It’s about finding thoughtful ways to say, “I see you. I appreciate you. I’m glad we’re doing life together.”
This year, I’ve found myself especially inspired by the power of red. Red is the colour of love, warmth, passion and celebration, and what better time to embrace it than during the Month of Love?
