Who knew the four seasons could taste so good?
The Ashton Inter-Schools Bake Off returned this year as part of Ashton International College’s vibrant Arts Festival, bringing together talented young bakers from Ashton International College and Crawford International College.
With the creative theme “Seasons,” competitors transformed simple ingredients into spectacular bakes inspired by everything from warm autumn spices to fresh spring flavours.
And the Winners Are…
After an incredibly close competition, Chloe Wilson and Keira Osborn from Ashton International College claimed first place with their stunning Autumn Chai and Apple Cake.
Their prize included:
- A Snappy Chef Induction Hob
- The prestigious Hirsch’s Floating Trophy

While the judges carefully selected the winning cake, guests enjoyed an exciting live cooking demonstration by Nonjabulo Nkwanyana from Snappy Chef.
Using the innovative Snappy Chef Induction Hob, Nonjabulo showcased just how:
- Easy
- Fast
- Safe
- Energy-efficient
induction cooking can be.
The demonstration quickly became a favourite among students, many of whom are preparing to leave for university next year.
The Perfect Prize for Student Life
For students moving into residence or shared accommodation, a portable induction hob offers the ideal cooking solution.
Its compact design makes it perfect for student living while providing an energy-efficient way to prepare quick, delicious meals without needing a full kitchen.
For winners Chloe Wilson and Keira Osborn, who are both heading to varsity next year, receiving a Snappy Chef Induction Hob couldn’t have been more fitting.
It wasn’t just a prize for exceptional baking it was a practical gift for the exciting journey ahead.
Baking for a Bigger Purpose
The sweetest part of the day wasn’t just the incredible cakes.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to Smile with Us, an NPO based at Fraser Farm in the canelands, helping support local children and families in need.
It’s a wonderful reminder that community events can make a real difference while bringing people together.
