This year, Hirsch’s added something special to the festival. The Hirsch’s Kitchen became a lively space filled with delicious food, inspiring stories and memorable experiences.
Bringing The Hirsch’s Kitchen to Woordfees
The idea began when the Toyota Woordfees team approached Hirsch’s through Andriette Georgio of Mondvol. She suggested creating a dedicated kitchen space for the festival.
Midea and Snappy Chef helped bring this vision to life. Both brands generously supplied appliances and equipment for the kitchen.
The result was a fully equipped space for live cooking demonstrations and culinary inspiration.
Visitors could discover new flavours, learn cooking tips and enjoy conversations about food. The kitchen quickly became a welcoming space for sharing ideas and experiences.
For Hirsch’s, the message was simple. The kitchen is the heart of the home, where people connect and memories are made.
A Taste of Tamatiestraat with Reinée Terreblanche-Brand
One of the festival highlights was a live cooking demonstration by Reinée Terreblanche-Brand, founder of Tamatiestraat.
Her demonstration drew inspiration from her book, Tussen-in-Between.
The book explores food, memories and the meaningful moments between life’s bigger events. It offers more than recipes. It shares personal stories through the joy of food.
At the heart of the book is the humble sandwich. It reminds readers that life’s simplest moments often hold the greatest meaning.
During her demonstration, Reinée shared favourite recipes, delicious flavours and personal stories.
Her warmth and creativity brought the spirit of Tamatiestraat to life. Festival visitors enjoyed an experience that celebrated both cooking and storytelling.
